Juanita R. Vega was called home on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at the age of 82.

She was born in Harlingen, Texas on January 1, 1939 to her parents Bernardo and Victoria Vega.

Although it is impossible to sum up a wonderful life in only a few words; one would say Juanita was strong, bold, and caring. For her family she provided strength, stability, and unfailing love. As a mother to 6 children she always knew the value of hard work; perseverance, and the will to stand on her own. To say she was a force to be reckoned with is an understatement, but she had a soft heart for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We will miss her dearly but we will celebrate her life forever.

Juanita joins now in heaven her mother Victoria Vega; brothers: Ben Vega and Andres Vega; along with her beloved daughter Clara Cantu.

She is survived by 5 children: Mario Vega, Arnulfo Vega, Octabiano "Toby" (Diana) Cantu, Enrique Cantu, Gloria (David) Elizalde; son-in-law: Arturo Rodriguez; along with numerous other loving members of the family whom she adored.

All funeral services will be held on Monday, June 21, 2021. Public Visitation will be held from 10am-12pm at Guardian Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:30pm at SS Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church 3210 SPID/Kostoryz. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
