Juanita 'Nita' Laird Niolet, 88, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2013. She was born on September 12, 1924, in Cedar Creek, Arkansas. She grew up in Oklahoma, and met her husband, and became a wife of a career military pilot. As newlyweds, their first place of residence in 1946 was in Corpus Christi, Texas for Jim to complete his advanced naval aviator training. During the next twenty years, she enjoyed living in wonderful parts of the country, including five years in Hawaii, California, North Carolina, Virginia, Alabama, and New Jersey. She was always extremely committed to her husband's career. After retirement, they wanted to return to Texas. Nita spent almost fifty years in Corpus Christi. After the loss of her husband, she went back to school and became a Realtor with Group One Real Estate and made many good friends. Nita touched many people's lives and remained courageous and strong during adverse times. She loved the company of all people and pets, loved life, loved to travel, getting 'dressed up,' and eating fine cuisine.

She is preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life, James W. Niolet and parents, E.T. and Clara Laird.

Nita is survived by her loving daughter, Sherry Niolet of Corpus Christi, Texas, her brothers and sisters-in-law, Bruce T. & Dell Laird, Dewayne and Marie Laird, also sisters-in-law, and brother-in-law, Dorothy Benvenutti and Nell and Dinkie McDonald.
