Juana "Terry" Cavazos, age 66, walked into the hands of her Lord on Sunday, December 6, 2015. Terry was born August 28, 1949 and lived her life as a devoted Christian and faithful member of Primera Iglesia Bautista where she also served as a Sunday school teacher and choir member.
Terry was a retired school teacher of 33 years with CCISD. She taught Special Education at Miller High School and ended her teaching career at Moody High School.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, Jesse Cavazos, her three children, Steve (Becky) Cavazos, Marissa (Gilbert) Ramirez, and Jessica Cavazos; her parents Alberto and Manuela Vasquez, three brothers Albert (Yolanda), Danny (Diana), Homer (Sandra); three sisters Ofelia Vasquez, Marta (Juan) Martinez, Doris (Robert) Guillen, along with her nine grandchildren: Gilbert III, Reyanna, Damien, Leandra, Jake, Tristan, Aidan, Kenadie, and her little boy Ryan. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Gloria Felix, along with numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members whom will always hold a special place in her heart.
A celebration of life service will be held on, Thursday, December 10 at Primera Iglesia Bautista located at 1509 Tarlton St at 7 PM. The gravesite service and interment will take place at Rose Hill Cemetery, 2731 Comanche on Friday December 11 at 10 AM. Per her request we ask that all attendees wear bright colors instead of black and in lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to Primera Iglesia Bautista hymnbook replacement fund.
