1st. Sergeant Juan Isidro Valdez, Sr., 71, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2018. Juan, a Vietnam Veteran, devoted 20 years to the United States Army. He was a loving father, grandfather, husband, brother, friend, a talented musician, as well as, a mentor and inspiration to the countless lives he touched. Juan is preceeded in death by his father, Victoriano Valdez, his mother, Juana R. Valdez, his wife of 41 years and mother of his children, Grace Ann(Berglund)Valdez.
Survivors include: His wife, Gloria Valdez, one son, John I. (Oran Steiner) Valdez, two daughters, Jennifer I. (Bryon) Hudgins and Jeanna I. (Jesse) Gomez. Three grandsons, Jeremy I. Valdez, Roland Vigil, Jr, and Jacob B. Hudgins. Three granddaughters, Ileana D. Valdez, Monica J. Valdez, and Sophie G. Hudgins. One great-grandson Alexander R. Valdez-Ortega, Step-children, Gabriel (Anna) Chadis, Phillip (Natalie) Chadis and Rudy Chadis, Jr., and numerous family members and friends that loved and adored him. Funeral Services will be held at Guardian Funeral Home. Viewing will be Thursday, January 18, 2018 beginning at 5:00p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. There will be a Mass Friday, January 19, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church followed by burial with full military honors at Rose Hill Cemetery.
