Obituary

Juan M. Medina passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025, at the age of 90, surrounded by his devoted family. Born in Corpus Christi, Texas, on June 10, 1934, to Juan and Concepcion Medina.

Juan lived a life marked by love, service, and dedication. He graduated from high school in 1956 and proudly served in the United States Army from October 1956 to October 1962. As a member of the 12th Cavalry Regiment, he was stationed in both Korea and Germany.

On October 20, 1954, Juan married the love of his life, Juanita, in Brownsville, Texas. Together, they shared 70 years of marriage built on deep love and unwavering commitment.

Juan was a devoted father to Robert, Raul, Johnnie, Albert, Delia, and Belinda. Affectionately known as "Popo," he was cherished by a large and loving family that included his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and another great-grandchild on the way.

Juan retired from Nielsen Media Research in 2015, following 20 years of dedicated service. Beyond his work, he found immense joy in music, dancing, and sharing good food. He didn't just listen to music—he brought it to life, playing his accordion and singing with heartfelt passion.
Watching Juan and his beloved, Juanita dance was a sight to behold—their movements so perfectly in sync, full of joy and grace. Whether tapping his feet, whistling a tune, or clapping along, he carried rhythm and warmth wherever he went.

Juan's quick wit, selfless love, and unwavering work ethic left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He was a steady, supportive force in the lives of his children and grandchildren, always leading with quiet strength, kindness, and generosity. Known for putting family first, he
never hesitated to lend a hand to anyone in need.

Juan is survived by his beloved wife, Juanita; his children, Johnnie (Crystal) Medina, Albert (Cathy) Medina, Delia Medina, and Belinda (Robert) Curiel; his 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Antonio (Olga) Medina, Aurora (John) Gomez, Antonia Medina, Alicia Tobias, and Guillermo "Willie" (Pat) Medina; and numerous nieces and nephews.
