Obituary

At a young age Juan moved from San Luis Mexico to Corpus Christi. He met his lovely wife, Elizabeth, while working as a dishwasher at Ray's Mexican restaurant. Together they began their family and raised three sons. He then went to provide for his family by working for the City of Corpus Christi, where he retired after 29 years. Juan was a jack of all trades and there was nothing he couldn't fix. He and his nephew, Manuel would lend a helping hand by completing projects for others. Together they were an incredible team that could tackle any task. While his work ethic will always be remembered, so will the way he cherished his family, especially his granddaughters. He had an endless amount of love for his girls. He took them on countless bike rides and trips to the park. He would stop at nothing to see their smiles, including becoming a human coloring book and walking around with marker on his arms and legs. He was the greatest "Popo" they could ask for.

Juan Martinez Ferrer, survived by his wife, Elizabeth Martinez. Sons, Juan Daniel (Sarah) Martinez, Victor Hugo Martinez, David Jeremy Martinez. Granddaughters, Serenity Abelicia Martinez, Aliza Michelle Martinez and Scarlett Nicole Martinez. Step grandson, Robert Ramos. He is also survived by brothers Miguel, Jorge, Victor, sisters Teresa, Lucia and numerous nieces and nephews.

Juan will be greatly missed.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday February 16th from 3-5pm at Guardian Funeral Home.
