Juan Jose Maldonado passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on June 5, 2024, at the age of 83.

Juan is joined now in heaven by his loving wife Esperanza "Hopie" Maldonado, his parents Jesus and Cruz Maldonado; sisters: Elvira Gomez, Aurora Miller, and brothers: Jesse "Chuy" Maldonado, Gilbert "Gil" Maldonado, Pete Maldonado, Rey Maldonado.

Juan was a Master Mason and owner of J.J. Maldonado Construction. He was a true craftsman of his trade and his work can be seen throughout all of Corpus Christi. His innovative and creative ideas can also be seen in the several modified gadgets he created to make life easier for his beloved wife. He stayed informed with the times by researching and watching the news on his "Space Book". He prayed for his loved ones
everyday and sent them on their way with his special blessing and on occasion a sprinkle of Holy Water.

He is survived by his children: Mary Magdalena Naranjo (Willie), Ruben Hernandez, Johnny Joe Maldonado, Jr. (Marina), Patricia Hernandez (Ronnie), Richard Roland Maldonado (Rosie), Esmeralda "Meldy" Hernandez (Joe), Brenda Garza (David); 14 grandchildren;10 great-grandchildren; brother Frank Maldonado; sisters Alicia Maldonado, Lupita Redd and Janie San Miguel, along with numerous nieces, nephews,
brother in-law Lupe Cardona (Dolores) and his best friend Mike Bazan.

A special thanks to his caring neighbors for their friendship and support. Public visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, June 10, 2024 at Guardian funeral home chapel "A" with a Holy rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. followed by shared memories. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at Guardian funeral home starting at 8:30 a.m. with the Funeral procession departing at 11:00 a.m. for a Funeral Mass to be Celebrated at 11:30 a.m. at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic church Kostoryz/SPID. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park cemetery.
