Juan S. Landa, Sr., 84, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2015 at his home, with his family by his side. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Juan R. Landa, a daughter, Lisa Landa, a grandson, Mark Landa, a sister, Virginia Diaz. Juan was a retired construction worker who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, watching wrestling and playing the Texas Lottery scratch offs. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Maria Landa, his sister, Jesusa (Francisco) Mungia, his four daughters, Odie Landa, Dalia (Luis) Reyes, Anna (George) Valenti, and Laura Landa, six grandchildren, Jennifer Reyes, Jacob Derleth, John Valenti, Samanantha Derleth, Lily Valenti and Aiden Landa, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Guardian funeral home chapel "A" with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic church. Kostoryz/SPID. Burial will follow at Seaside Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Ramiro Rivera, Ramiro Rivera, Jr., Ramiro Flores, Everesto Huerta, Juan Galvan and Roberto Galvan. Honorary are Jacob and John. The family wishes to thank all of his primary Doctors, the staff at Angel Bright Hospice care and all who cared for him throught it all.
