Juan C. Castillo, a lifelong resident of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026, at the age of 94. He was born on December 3, 1931, to Jose M. Castillo and Raphaela C. Castillo, who preceded him in death.
Juan was a hardworking man who dedicated nearly 30 years to Corn Products Refining Company and later owned his own trucking company. He also worked for Nueces County operating heavy equipment at Bob Hall Pier, where he helped level the sand dunes. Juan took pride in his work and enjoyed life to the fullest.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Minerva B. Castillo; his children, John Albert Castillo, John Edward Castillo, Johanna M. Castillo, and John Arnold Castillo; his brother, Jose Castillo; and his sister, Dora Parrish.
Juan is survived by his children, Blanche Castillo, John Albert Castillo, Sr., and San Juanita S. Saenz; his brother, Franco Castillo; his sister, Connie Turincio; 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Juan spent over 80 years in the same family home on Luna Street and was deeply loved by all who knew him. In his later years at Alameda Oaks Nursing Home, he became especially cherished by the CNA’s, nurses, and staff for his warm spirit and friendly nature.
He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, love for his family, and the joy he brought to those around him.
