Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Juan "Tony" Antonio Reyna, 73, on Friday, May 2, 2025. Born on September 10, 1951, in Corpus Christi, TX, he spent his entire life in the city he called home. He graduated from Moody High School and earned certifications from Del Mar College.

Though we knew this day would come, none of us were ready to say goodbye.

Tony is survived by his children, Crystal (Ram) Escobar of Woodsboro, TX, and Catherine (Andrew) Reyes of Corpus Christi, TX. He had four grandchildren: Jordyn Roberts, Isabelle Reyes, Andrew Reyes Jr, and Joshwa (Kristine) Escobar. Siblings include Liana Reyna of Corpus Christi, Texas, Dr. Jose Reynaldo Reyna of Bakersfield, California, and Roberto Reyna of Minneapolis, Minnesota. He also leaves behind his former wife and the mother of his children, Sylvia Reyna. In later years, he was lovingly cared for by his companion, Vangie Rodriguez.

Tony is now reunited with his parents, Gustavo and Irene Reyna, his brother, Gustavo Reyna Jr., his sister Rachel DeLaGarza, and his niece, Evanna "Bonnie" Reyna.

Throughout his life, Tony worked as a refinery inspector and in the lab. He operated heavy machinery and worked in maintenance. He played baseball as a child and into adulthood. He loved MLB. In addition to watching baseball, he loved The Andy Griffith Show and Western movies. Tony played the drums and bass guitar. He would always pull out his harmonica when the music called for it.

To say Tony will be missed is an understatement. He was one of the funniest people you will ever meet. His love of fishing was lifelong. He was always on his motorcycle and enjoyed going to car shows. Until we meet again, may he rest in peace. Gather with us to remember Tony.
