Jovita G. Martinez, 80, went home to be with the Lord on June 30, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Martinez was preceded in death by her husband Jesus Francisco Martinez, a grandchild, Juan G. Flores, Jr., and a son, Edward Sul. She was born on July 20, 1936 in Gregory, Texas to Justino and Julia Garcia. She was a Member of Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She is survived by her 10 children, Ysabel Gonzalez, Josie (Francisco) Rizio, Jose Luis Bernal, Julia (David) Livas, Martin (Peggy) Sul, Raquel (Julian) Ramos, Francisco (Kim) Martinez, Jovita (Christopher) Arriaga, Belinda M. (Humberto, Jr.) Yeverino, Anna Maria Martinez, 30 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Guardian funeral home chapel "A" with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. A Funeral procession will depart Guardian funeral home on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. for a 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic church. SPID/Kostoryz. Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Coastal Bend State Veterans cemetery, 9974 IH 37 access Rd.
