Joseph David Pennington
Corpus Christi, TX
Joseph David Pennington, 63, passed away on May 25, 2013. He was born on May 23, 1950 to the late Archie and Ruby Pennington. David was a special person; very generous to everyone he met. He was always helping others; often surprising those in need. He loved to make people smile. He was blessed with a quick wit and a kind heart, and he faced death as he lived life-with courage and dignity. While serving with the Marines in Vietnam, he was wounded in action and received the Purple Heart along with numerous other awards.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pam.
He is survived by his brother, John Pennington (Jeanette); his sister, Debra Turney (Ron); niece, Sarah Chavez (Alex); nephews: Andrew Pennington, Allen Pennington (Sarah), Corey Turney (Vanessa), Joel Turney (Liz), and Donovan Turney (Tanja); numerous grandnieces and grandnephews.
Special thanks to Karen Dumas, Reva Arambula, and Holly Wescott for their kindness and devotion to David in his time of need.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel B with Military honors to follow.
