Joseph Alexander Castillo passed away on April 7, 2018 at the age of 35. He was born on April 12, 1982 in Bremerton, Washington to Catherine O'Leary (deceased) and Jose Castillo. As a marine brat, the family lived all over the country before settling in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Alex, as everyone called him, loved his wife and family very much.  He filled his leisure time playing his numerous guitars, snuggling with his critters, and hanging out at the beach.  He spent most of his career as a corrections peace officer and a social worker utilizing his passion and talent for helping others.  He will be greatly missed by all the lives he touched.

Alex is survived by his adoring wife, Candice Marie Castillo and their six furry children; his father Jose Guadalupe Castillo and wife Irma; his brother John Jerimiah Castillo and wife Lisa, along with their children Brittany, Brianna, Bricelynn, and John Jr. all of Corpus Christi; his father and mother-in-law Tommie and Dawn Burks, of The Woodlands, Texas; his grandmothers, Aurora Castillo of Corpus Christi, Mary C. O'Leary of McMinnville, Oregon, and Ellen Burks of Huntsville, Texas; in addition to countless aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be from 5-9pm on Thursday, April 12 with recitation of the holy rosary at 7pm at Guardian Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church Friday, April 13 at 11:30am with the internment to follow at 1pm at Seaside Memorial Park.
