Josefina C. Martinez, 89, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 22, 2014. She was born August 27, 1925
in Penitas, Texas to Ernesto and Maria Cardenas who preceded her in death. Josefina was loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister. She always had a positive outlook on life; if she said anything, it was always nice. Due to her Christian nature she was a truly beautiful, good hearted, sweet and loving person. This" Angel of Earth" will never be forgotten by those who knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years Luis V. Martinez, 4 children, Yolanda (C.R.) Cochran, David (Dianna) Martinez, Mary (Santiago) Torres, Arturo (Beatrice) Martinez, Grandchildren, John David Martinez, Wally Martinez, Just Martinez, Ryan (Christina) Cochran, Carrie Ann (Eric) Deese, Veronica Garza and Santiago Torres, Jr., 8 Great grandchildren, Mia Sara Martinez, Kameron Martinez, Summer Sewell, Jacob Deese, Josefina Deese, Dorothy Deese, William Deese and Logan Cochran, and Nicole Garza, Brother, Jose Cardenas, Francis Pavloski, Sister, Cecilia Rios. A special heartfelt thanks to Carmen Briones for her loving care and compassion. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. Monday, November 24, 2014 at Guardian funeral home chapel B with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. that evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Most Precious Blood Catholic church, 3502 Saratoga Blvd. Burial will follow at the Coastal Bend State Veterans cemetery 9974 IH 37 access Rd
