Josefina Chavarria Alaniz
Corpus Christi, TX
Josefina Chavarria Alaniz, 94, went home to be with the Lord on May 16, 2013.
She was born in Laredo, Texas on January 1, 1919 to Jose Chavarria and Ascencion Morales Chavarria who preceded her in death; she was also preceded by her husband, Baldemar Alaniz, and two brothers, Arturo and Albert Chavarria.
Josefina was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mrs. Alaniz was employed with C.C.I.S.D. for several years and retired after over 40 years of service at the age of 87.
She is survived by her children: Joe (Elva) Alaniz of Alice, TX., Johnny Lewis Alaniz from Houston, TX., Mary Alice De Los Santos from San Antonio, TX., Gloria Ann Berardi from Corpus Christi, TX., Rose Mary Martinez, Corpus Christi, TX.; Nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandkids and great-great-grandkids.
Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m., Monday, May 20, 2013 at Guardian Funeral Home (between Saratoga & Holly Rd. 5922 Crosstown Hwy. 286 Access Rd.) Chapel A with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m., that evening.
A Funeral procession will depart the Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m., for a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2509 Nogales/MacArthur.
Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8200 Old Brownsville Rd.
