Jose Lerma, Sr., age 70, went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, October 14, 2024. Jose was born on December 7, 1953, in Corpus Christi, Texas to Jesus and Esperanza Lerma. He was a 1972 graduate of Foy H. Moody High School. He married Patty Lerma on December 2, 1972, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He worked in the Purchasing Department at Del Mar College and retired in 2009. Jose was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa, uncle, brother and friend to all he met and knew. Jose had the ability to make everyone's day brighter with a joke or silly question.

He is preceded in death by his parents Jesus Lerma, Sr. and Esperanza Lerma, father-in-law Ventura Ramirez, Sr., sister Hortencia "Tencha" Flores, brother-in-law John Flores, brother Jesse Lerma, and granddaughter Lily Faith Gracia.

He is survived by his loving wife Patty Lerma, son Jose Lerma, Jr. (Dina), daughters Linda Esperanza Gracia (Cesar), Laura Ariel Lerma (David), grandsons Joseph (Olivia) Lerma, Isaac Flores, Matthew Lerma, Cesar Gracia, Jr., granddaughters Elizabeth Anne Gutierrez, Laurianne Gutierrez, Rhys Zarate, great-grandson Joseph Lerma, Jr., mother-in-law, Rita Ramirez and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Joseph Lerma, Isaac Flores, Matthew Lerma, Cesar Gracia, Jr., Jacob Flores, Andrew Flores and Jesus "Chucho" Flores.

Family, friends, and all whose lives Jose touched are invited to join us to pray, grieve, and support each other beginning at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday , October 22, 2024 , at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel "A" with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Wednesday , October 23, 2024 , at Guardian Funeral Home at 9:00 a.m. and a final viewing will start at 10:30 a.m. with the funeral procession to depart Guardian Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. for an 11:30 a.m. funeral mass at Holy Family Catholic Church , 2509 Nogales, Corpus Christi, Texas 78416, then to his final resting place at Rose Hill Memorial Cemetery.
