IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jose F.
Martinez
October 3, 1939 – August 20, 2025
Mr. Jose F. Martinez, affectionately known as Joe, 85 years of age went home to be with the Lord on August 20, 2025 surrounded by his loving family at his side. Born on October 3, 1939, in Corpus Christi, Texas, Joe spent his entire life rooted in the community he loved. He attended Roy Miller High School and served our country proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps.
After completing his military service, Joe returned to Corpus Christi and built a successful career as a glazier. Known for his craftsmanship and entrepreneurial spirit, he founded and operated Joe's Glass, earning a reputation as a skilled "glassman" and trusted business owner until his retirement.
Joe's life was deeply enriched by his faith. A devoted member of the Altar of Prayer church, he found great joy in sharing scripture and offering testimony about his walk with the Lord. His spiritual commitment was a guiding force that shaped his relationships and daily life. Through the years, his presence became a steady light for those around him—a source of comfort and strength that will not be forgotten.
Family was central to Joe's world. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Yvonne; their daughter Melissa; and their son Milton. He also leaves behind three cherished sisters: Evangelina Ewing, Elma Martinez, and Consuelo Garcia. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Maria Saenz Martinez and Jose Herrera Martinez.
In addition to his devotion to family and faith, Joe found great joy and relaxation over the years—whether he was out on the golf course or watching football and golf on television.
Joe will be remembered for the strength of his convictions, the love he shared with those closest to him, and the legacy he leaves behind through family, faith, and community.
Though he has departed this world, the echo of Joe's spirit lingers—in shared stories, familiar laughter, and the enduring bonds of family. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
