Jose Mario Martinez
Corpus Christi , TX
Jose Mario Martinez, age 74, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Thursday, April 9, 2015. He battled cancer for four years and was a fighter till the very end. He has passed on to the Kingdom of God where he is celebrating his new eternal life and there is no more pain and suffering.
He was born on January 22, 1941 in Carrizo Springs, Texas. He worked for Whatabuger as a maintenance engineer for 42 years and retired in 2011. Dad was an honest, hard-working, and genuine family man who lived to provide for his wife and all 8 kids. He was such a fun and uplifting spirit, always joking around, laughing, and had a magnetism about him that everyone was drawn to. He treated everyone with respect, regardless of who they were, and he never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was our rock and he instilled values in each and every one of us in which he taught by example. He truly was an amazing man and we are grateful that we were blessed with such an incredible, loving father. We miss him immensely.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tereso and Fulgencia Martinez.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Isabel C. Martinez, sons Mario Martinez, Armando Martinez and wife Denise Martinez, Oscar Martinez and wife Lisa Martinez, Enrique Martinez and wife Maria Martinez, Homero Martinez and daughters Marivel Martinez, Anavel Martinez and Isabel Teresa Martinez and 11 grandchildren, Ashley Rodriguez, Brienna Martinez, Kristen Martinez, Ricky Martinez, Christopher Martinez, Natalia Martinez, Kennedy Martinez, Austin Martinez, Amanda Martinez, Fabiana Martinez, Ryan Spitzer and Great Grandson Emmanuel Rodriguez, Jr.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Guardian funeral home chapel "A" with a Holy Rosary and Celebration to begin at 7:00 p.m. that evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Holy Family Catholic church, 2509 Nogales/MacArthur. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens cemetery 8200 Old Brownsville Rd. To Leave condolences visit. www.Guardianfhcremation.com
