In Loving Memory of Jose Hernandez (AKA "Jo Loco", Coche) April 14, 1951 – March 7, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jose Hernandez, lovingly known as "Jo Loco", a man who lived his life with joy, passion, and a deep love for family. He departed this world, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever be held in the hearts of those who knew him.

Jose was a man of simple yet profound pleasures. He found peace on the water, with a fishing rod in hand, patiently waiting for the perfect catch. He also found joy on the dance floor, where his spirit came alive with every step. Whether it was a quiet day by the lake or a lively night filled with music, he embraced life with enthusiasm and grace.

He is preceded in death by his father, Trinidad Leos Hernandez, his mother, Leonor Barrera Hernandez, his brother Juan Hernandez and his sister Maria Martinez.

He is survived by his five children, Candy Hernandez, Jose Hernandez Jr., Isabell Hernandez, Lenora Gasca Hernandez, and Mario Flores; his brothers Raul Hernandez,Trinidad Hernandez,Tomas Hernandez, Joe Torres, Martin Martinez, Sammi Hernandez And sisters Elida and Yolanda Sanchez.
Lynda Dolores; a wonderful caregiver and friend, Anna Garcia, and many other loved ones—family and friends who will forever cherish his kindness, his humor, and the unwavering love he shared.

Though he is no longer physically with us, his spirit will live on in the stories we tell, the songs we dance to, and the gentle ripple of the water on a peaceful afternoon.

A celebration of Jose "Jo Loco" Hernandez's life will be held on March 22, 2025, at Guardian Funeral Home located at 5299 Crosstown Access Road. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM with a Chapel Service to begin at 12:00 PM, followed by a burial at Port Lavaca Cemetery at 2:30 PM.

All who knew and loved him are welcome to join in honoring his memory.
