Obituary
Jose Emeterio Curiel, 81 yrs, was called home to be with Our Lord and Savior on August 5, 2017.
He was born March 3, 1936 in Corpus Christi to Diego Curiel and Mercedes Cortez Curiel. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Maria (Lucy) Johnson; two sisters; and one brother.
He leaves behind, to cherish his memories, loving wife Mary Helen; sister Amalia Garcia. His children; Jose E. Curiel Jr. (Gina), Maria Elena Trevino (Rick), Mary Alice Curiel, Jose (Jay) Curiel (Cris), Joe (Coach) Curiel (Bonnie), and Mary Ann (Cookie) Curiel (Jimmy) ; 17 grandkids; 21 great-grandkids.
Jose worked for CCISD for 30 years, he was also a Little League Baseball and teenage coach for 25 years.
Visitation will be held at Guardian Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 9, from 5-9 p.m. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, August 10, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church 2513 Nogales Street. Burial to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park. Reception will be held at S.S. Cyril and Methodius Youth Facility 3210 SPID, behind the school.
