Jose Coronado Corpus ,77 of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 5, 2025.

Jose was born on August 18, 1947 in San Antonio, Texas to Jose and Eloisa Corpus.
Jose was a devoted husband to Sylvia H Corpus being married 51 years before her passing in 2022.  He was a loving father to their four daughters Monica, Linda, Rebecca and Josephine.

Jose was a graduate of Holy Cross High School in San Antonio, Texas and was a dedicated alumni. After high school he enlisted to serve his country. He was a very proud Veteran of the United States Navy for 26 years of service. He retired as a First Class Chief Petty Officer (YNC) in 1992. After retiring Jose attended Texas A&M Corpus Christi graduating with his bachelor's in business. He then pursued employment in the insurance field.

He enjoyed spending time with his family at family gatherings, going to the Conviva senior center, enjoyed making people laugh, and going to Hooks games. He was a lover of all sports and made it a point to share that love with his daughters. He never missed a chance to watch his grandchildren participate in activities. He loved opportunities to travel. He had a great love for music, dancing, and the outdoors.

Jose was a member of the VFW Post 2397 and he  made many friends. His radiant smile, sense of humor, and handsome charm will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

Jose is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Eloisa Corpus, his wife, Sylvia Corpus, and two brothers Abel Corpus and Ruben Corpus. Jose, is survived by his daughters Monica Sorimon, Linda Ardila (Beto), Rebecca Moreno (Jerry), Josephine Corpus, 1 son Tony Sorimon (Audrey) 9 grandchildren Monique, Anthony, Isabel, Dominique, Sebastian, Samson, Ethaniel, Kalina, and Adam, 1 Great granddaughter Alani H. Sorimon, 5 siblings and numerous nieces and nephews.

A public visitation for Jose will be held Sunday, July 20, 2025 from 4:30PM to 8:00PM with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:30PM followed by shared memories of Jose's life. Visitation will continue 9:00AM with Full Services to be held on Monday, July 21, 2025 at 11:00AM at Guardian Funeral Home 5922 Crosstown Access Rd., Corpus Christi, TX 78417 followed by burial with full military honors at 1:00PM at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery 9974 IH 37 Access Rd, Corpus Christi, Texas 78410. A Reception will be held after the burial at the Guardian Hall 5813 Ayers St.
