Jose (Joey) Charles Sauceda, Jr. passed away Friday, April 21, 2023. Jose was born in Corpus Christi, Texas at Spohn Memorial Hospital which earned him the record of being the second Largest Bicentennial Baby in History.

He attended El Ranchito Elementary School in Pico Rivera, California; Cunningham Junior High School in Corpus Christi, Texas while Ramiro (Ram) Chavez was Assistant Principal. He then went to Moody High School, graduating in May of 1994.

Shortly after graduation, in June of 1994, he proudly joined the United States Navy. He was deployed to the Bosnia War and by the grace of God, returned home safely. Eager to further his education, he attended ITT Technical College in San Antonio, Texas and worked at KEDT TV, KIII Channel 3 and KZTV channel 10. He had a work ethic like no other, he then went to work at C&J Energy Services Alamo Pressure Dumping LLC and last at Diamond Frac Solutions.

Jose (Joey) C. Sauceda, Jr. is survived by his mother, Yolanda Rivera Guerrero, step-father, Alexander Rodriguez, his biological father, Jose Charles Sauceda, Sr. (Mine); his brothers: Pablo Victor "Paul" (Velma) Sauceda, Jesse Bolado, and his sisters: Mary Beatrice Lopez, San Juanita Campos, Gloria (Kevin) Huffstutier; nephews: Eladio Castaneda, Jr, Joachim Lee Lopez, Bryan Luna, John Mendoza, Jesse Mendoza, Thomas Graham, Joseph Ormond Bolado, Joseph Bolado, his nieces: Rose Mary Cuahuey, Yolanda Leal, Bonnie Lou Graham, Christian Bolado, Erica Bolado, 18 great-grand nephew and nieces; paternal aunts and uncles: Ernestina Oudie, Isabel Moore, Nicolas (Zapopa) Charles, Ruben Charles; numerous cousins and his extra very close cousins: Edward Guerrero, Patricia Leyba and Abel Molina.

Public visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Guardian funeral home chapel ''A" with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1302 Lantana Corpus Christi, Texas 78407 . Burial with full military honors will follow in the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Joachim Lee Lopez, Xavier Molina, Mingo Torres, Jesse Garza, Carlton Walls, Jeffrey Suttle, Johnny Trevino, and Michael Ramirez.
