IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jose Federico
Aleman
July 12, 1935 – August 2, 2025
Jose F. Aleman, known to many as Freddie (Sonny), passed away on August 2, leaving behind a life that was marked by dedication, service, and an unwavering commitment to those he loved.
A proud member of the U.S. Army Reserve, Freddie served for 30 years, spending time in San Antonio, Sinton, and Germany. His service reflected his deep sense of duty and the strong values that guided him throughout his life. Following his military service, he worked for the City of Corpus Christi Parking Division, where he later retired.
Freddie is preceded in death by his wife, Josephine "Josie" Aleman. Freddie and his beloved wife, Josie, shared 60 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, partnership, and adventure. Together they raised their daughters, instilling in them the values of family, faith, and perseverance. They enjoyed traveling, spending time with friends, and participating in social clubs and activities such as the Dos Aguilas Bowling League, where they formed lasting friendships. Faith was a central part of their lives, and they were devoted, long-time parishioners of the Corpus Christi Cathedral and Holy Family. Their bond was one of deep mutual respect and joy, and now he and Josie are together again in eternal rest.
Freddie was also a proud and loyal sports fan, cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Astros, and the Corpus Christi Hooks with great enthusiasm. In his later years, he enjoyed spending time at the Broadmoor Park and Greenwood Senior Centers, where he was warmly known as "Grandpa."
Freddie is also preceded in death by his daughter, Tracy Aleman; his mother, Celia Levrier; his father, Jose O. Aleman; and his stepfather, Luis Levrier.
He is survived by his daughters, Cynthia Van Vleck and Sandra Lecocq; his sister, Santa Gonzalez; his sister-in-law, Beatrice Rodriguez; and countless cousins, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. His family and friends will forever remember his devotion to his wife, his fierce love for his daughters, and his constant presence whenever someone needed him.
Freddie's quiet strength, steady guidance, and generous spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
