IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John Henry
Ramirez, Jr.
June 29, 1984 – October 5, 2022
John Henry Ramirez, Jr. completed his earthly journey on October 5, 2022 at the age of 38.
He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on June 29, 1984 to his parents Priscilla Martinez and John Henry Ramirez, Sr.
With faith in our gracious and loving Father, we bid farewell to a renewed child of God. Although many wanted to define John by the mistake he made many years ago, his heart today was filled with remorse, hope in the Resurrection and love for his family and friends. To quote John, " I love y'all. Just know I fought a good fight, and I am ready to go."
A good fight indeed he fought. In nature, John was very humble; never asking for credit or recognition for his accomplishments. When he came to proclaim God, as his Lord and Savior, he made it a goal to read the scriptures, to understand the meaning and purpose of mercy and forgiveness and to proudly share this message to anyone that would listen. He was instrumental in starting a field ministry and library for those on Death Row, another achievement to which he wanted no applause. As his passing became imminent in September 2021, it was important for John to have his Pastor be present to pray over him in his final moments; a request that was at first denied by officials. This battle, John helped lead to the United States Supreme court, setting precedent for others who may wish to have a Spiritual Advisors amongst them at their time of passing.
Above all else John only wanted to be seen as a human; one who admittedly had troubles but, in the end, found saving grace. His need for love and mercy was evident until his last moments. We do not say goodbye, but merely, until we meet again John.
He has now returned to his heavenly home to be greeted by his maternal grandmother Guadalupe Martinez; paternal grandmother Guadalupe Hinojosa, and uncle Alejandro Ramirez.
John is survived by his parents: Priscilla and John, Sr.; an older sister, brother Alex, and younger sister Guadalupe "NeNe" all of Corpus Christi, Texas; son Israel Alexander and mother to his son Rebecca Sierra of Brownsville, Texas; godmother Janice Trujillo, Pastor Dr. Dana Moore; along with a host of extend family and many friends.
