John Odom Born February 15th 1957 in Subic Bay, Phillipines
passed away on Tuesday May 10th 2016 in Alice Texas hospital.
He lived in Corpus Christi Texas and recently moved to Orange Grove
with his wife Kathy to enjoy the country.His Wife and 6 children were
there by his side as he went to Heaven. John graduated from Richard
King High School in 1974. He worked for H.E.B. Grocers for 38 years
of his life and 24 of those were as a driver in transportation, where he
retired from in 2012 at 55.
Most people who knew John would say that he was as wise as they
come and a wonderful mentor to anyone who crossed his path. After
retirement John loved building things in his shop for donations, gifts and fun.
He was a very loving husband to his wife and a wonderful father and step
father to all of his children and an awesome popo too. His grandkids could
never come or leave the house with out getting one of (Popo's) famous noggies
on the head. John would give anyone the shirt off his back to help them and he
will be truely missed by many people.
John is preceded in death by his Paternal and Maternal Grandparents
also his parents Billy A. Odom and Betty L. Odom of Corpus.
He is survived by his loving wife Kathy Davis Odom and pup Charlie ,
his sisters Lynda Odom and Tamara Odom Matthews. His 3 children
Robert Odom (April) of Robstown,Tabitha Martinez (Frank) of Corpus
Christi , and Jessica Rodriguez (Jose) of Augusta, Georgia.
John is also suvived by 3 step-children whom he treated as his own,
Dawn Kiolbassa (Justin) ,Mikey Kiolbassa (Jodayle) of Corpus Christi
and Kristie Britt (Landon) of Orange Grove, Texas. Along with
15 of his favorite grandchildren(Brats) ranging from 2 to 20yrs old.
The family will be having a memorial service at Guardian Funeral
Home Chapel "A" on Saturday May 14th 2016 @ 1:00pm.
Following service a reception will be held at Guardian Hall located at
5813 Ayers St. Corpus Christi.
