It is with a heavy heart that the family of John Eric Martinez announce his untimely death at the
age of 23 on Wednesday morning, July 31, 2019.
A beloved son, grandson, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to so many.
John Eric was born in Corpus Christi, Texas in 1996. Growing up, he attended Flour Bluff
Independent School District where he played baseball and basketball. He loved living close to the ocean, and was an avid fisherman. Although most knew him as a very private, quiet, person, he had a heart that was generous. He loved life, he had a great devotion to God, Our Father, even through his toughest battles he relied on his faith to carry him through it. If he could be granted one wish, it would be to have peace, that his family would be united together as one. He had such a positive mind set, he offered the best advice to those he loved, never allowing negative energy to bring him down. We must speak about his love for the game of checkers, he could play for hours; it goes to show his great mind, thinking everything through with deep thought. Although he is no longer with us, his light will live in our hearts, until we meet again.

John Eric is survived by his mother, Jennifer Olivarez; his brothers and sisters, Rudy Martinez
Jr, (Bianca) Jakob Martinez, Keanu Davis, Abbrianna Nicole Martinez, & Ashlie Ann Martinez; his father Rudy Martinez Sr. (Jennifer Mendiola), maternal grandmother Cynthia Villafuerte Gaytan (Bobby); his paternal grandmother Paz Martinez, his maternal great grandparents Juan and Juanita Lopez, his paternal great grandfather Enrique Vera and his beloved niece Ava Rose Martinez. John Eric is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him dearly; as well as countless friends who will miss him very much.

Public Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 7, 2019 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Guardian Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life to start at 7 p.m.
