John Charles Beattie, 57, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on December 6, 2013.
He was born in Hartford, Connecticut on March 13, 1956 to John Lindley Beattie and Margaret Brickner Beattie and grew up in Rochester, New York. For many years, he was a clinical social worker in Corpus Christi.
He is survived by his wife, Florencia, of Corpus Christi; his three children, Max Christian, Joanna Eugenia, and Samuel John of Corpus Christi; his mother, Margaret B. Beattie, of Sewalls Point, Florida; his two sisters, Nanette B. Bracken, of Ridgefield, Connecticut and Dr. Kathleen H. Beattie, of Denver, Colorado; and his two brothers, Robert J. Beattie, of Denver, Colorado and Richard S. Beattie, of New York.
Funeral services will be held at the Guardian Funeral Home, 5922 Crosstown Access Rd., Corpus Christi, Texas on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church, 3901 Violet Rd., Corpus Christi, on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 10 a.m., followed by burial in Memory Gardens, 8200 Old Brownsville Rd., Corpus Christi
