Joe Patrick Ruan, 43, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016 in the company of family and friends at CHRISTUS Spohn Shoreline hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born on July 27, 1972 in Phoenix, Ariz. before relocating to Corpus Christi.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Candy Ruan, children, Noah and Hannah. His mother, Teresa Dominguez, family friend, Jose Garcia, and father, Patricio Rivera Jr. His sister, Yvonne Rodriguez, and brothers, Javier Ruan, Elui Dominguez, Patricio Rivera III, Victor Rivera, and David Rivera, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father, Herrardo Federico Ruan, brothers, Herrardo (Jerry) Ruan and Robert Anthony Ruan.
Joe enjoyed being in the kitchen and is remembered for his love of cooking. Throughout his lifetime he worked in several restaurants, namely Crystal's Restaurant and Confectionary Bar, Luby's Cafeteria, and Montana Mike's Steakhouse, where he was befriended and loved by coworkers and customers alike. He is remembered by his family for his caring nature and courage to rise above any challenge. He will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 25 at 10 a.m. at Guardian Funeral Home.
