Obituary

Joe Rodriguez Lee passed on to a better world at God's chosen moment.
Joe was born on July 12, 1932 to Guadalupe Wally Lee and Josephine Rodriguez at the O' Connor Ranch in Tivoli, Texas where he spent the first 10 years of his life. The family relocated to Refugio in 1942 where he attended Refugio Highschool. He excelled in football and where he met his life long friend and buddy in the 4th grade, Bevian Rivas. Joe is also known as "Tito" by the old timers. This is Joes life- He graduated from Refugio High school in 1951 and together with two close friends joined the U.S. Air Force- he was assigned to "in country" service in the medical field and was stationed at Parks Air Force Base in Pleasant, California- during his tour in California he met the girl he would spend the rest of his life with. Joe retired after 30 years from Lockheed Missiles and Space Company from Sunnyville, California and relocated to Corpus Christi to help with family health issues. Joe leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 63 years years short one month, his sister, Aurora L. Guerrero, 2 brothers in law Edward(Vera) Fuentes and Frank(Gloria J) Fuentes both of California and numerous California nieces and newphews as well as numerous Texas nieces, nephews and cousins. As Joe was the kind of person he was 9 families entrusted their child to be his God Child and therefore there are 9 children that came from God to be cherished as their own.
Joe and Helen were always together inseparable to the end- they were always holding hands (so we dont fall over he would say) where one was the other would be. He did not cross "the rainbow bridge" alone. She was there with him holding has hand- her Viejito they were dancers and later in life when they could not "go dancing" they danced around the sofa to the music of "Domingo Live" on Sunday Mornings.
The family would like to thank our Father Bob Dunn for his compassion- Dr. Antonio Guzman for the 24 years of being his primary doctor and not least of them were the nurses who took such good care of our viejito-May God bless you all. Til we meet again my viejito, wait for me.
