Joe L. Cortez's Obituary
Proud U.S. Army Veteran and Father. He will be deeply missed by all of those fortunate enough to have known him.
He is preceded in death by his loving parents, his brother Javier Cortez, and an infant daughter Josephine Cortez.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories, a beloved companion Shirley Faucett; a son Joe Cortez, Jr.; daughters: Janella Rodriguez (Rene), Jovana Guidry (Brian); grandchildren: Desirae Mitchell (Patrick), Ashley Rodriguez, Aaron Hernandez, Serena Hernandez, Isaiah Hernandez, Miranda Cortez, Mia Cortez; great-grandchildren: Jayce Rodriguez and Rebecca Mitchell.
Visitation for Joe will begin Thursday, January 11, at 12 noon with a Chapel Service to be held at 12:30 p.m. at Guardian Funeral Home. Burial will follow that same afternoon at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors to be rendered there.
