Joe Garcia Aleman, Jr., age 73 passed away February 8, 2014. He was born on February 17, 1940 to Joe G. and Raquel Vallejo Aleman in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. He graduated from Roy Miller High School in 1959. He will always be remembered for his love of laughter, quiet nature, sense of adventure, service in the community, devotion to family, a man of many names mainly known as 'Shorty' and Beve. He was the designated 'Nicknamer' of the family, and he was a free spirited 'Rolling Stone', Shorty was a ladies man.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe G. Aleman, Sr., and Raquel Vallejo Aleman, his son, James Daryl Aleman.
He is survived by his sons, Joseph Daniel (Krista) Aleman from San Antonio, Texas, John David Aleman from Corpus Christi, Texas, daughter, Marisa Sanchez from Corpus Christi, Texas, step-daughter, Brenda Ryan (Michael), grandson, Justin Aleman from Texas A & M College Station, granddaughter, Reyanna Sanchez from Corpus Christi, Texas and grandson, Kevin Dardeman, three brothers: Eddie (Esther) Aleman, Keno (Mary) Aleman both from Corpus Christi, Texas, Rene (Rosie) Aleman from Whittier, California, his sister, Diana Cajigas (Frank) from Corona, California, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Guardian funeral home chapel A with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. A Funeral Procession will depart Guardian funeral home on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. for a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., at Most Precious Blood Catholic church, 3717 Saratoga blvd.
