Joan "Podi" Weddle, 87, of Corpus Christi, TX, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2022.

Joan was born on December 28, 1934 to Eileen L. Vos in Indianapolis, Indiana (adopted by Richard Vos.)  After graduating from Arsenal Technical High School in 1952, she went on to become an accomplished cosmetologist studying at the "Speedway Academy of Cosmetology." After graduation, she opened her first business in Clermont, Indiana , Joan's Beauty Shoppe. She continued as a successful business woman in the fields of beauty and ceramics until retiring in the early 80's.

In 1951, she met Marvin Weddle and it was literally love at first sight; 6 months later they wed in June of 1953. Three years later they started a family, going on to have 3 Children: Deborah, Mark, and Mary.
When Joan had Deborah in 1956, she decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother.

Joan excelled at propping up her beloved family, and her siblings: Diane, Victoria, Charles and Paul, supporting them through the many passions and difficulties of their lives. She made it her mission to improve the lives of others. Joan was a passionate ceramics artist and when she was not filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found in her studio surrounded by color and beauty.

Above all else Joan lived her life by faith in God, and love for her husband and family.

Joan and her husband Marvin started the first nursing home ministry in Corpus Christi, devoting their lives to God, they touched us all with their beautiful music and shining example of Christian love. We will miss her greatly.

Joan was predeceased by brothers: Paul and Charles. She is survived by her sisters: Diane and Victoria, and children: Deborah, Mark, and Mary.

There will be a Celebration and Remembrance of Joan's life on Saturday, July 30th from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. services at 3 p.m. at Guardian Funeral Home .
