Jimmy Nelson “Jim” Sanders Obituary

Jimmy Nelson “Jim” Sanders, 90, passed away on April 28, 2026.

Jim was born on July 21, 1935, to Jesse Marshall Sanders and Trixie Moody Sanders. He grew up alongside four siblings and attended Bishop High School. He was married to his beloved wife, Ebba Sanders, for nearly 64 years.

Jim dedicated 39 years of service to Champlin, building a long and respected career. Even after retirement, his work ethic never slowed; he continued working in the oil field industry as a pipeline inspector for several more years.

Known for his warmth and outgoing nature, Jim never met a stranger. He had a remarkable ability to remember names, making everyone he encountered feel seen and valued. Above all, he cherished time with his family and friends. Each week, he looked forward to the weekend, when he would fire up the grill and bring loved ones together. He was especially known for his incredible brisket, a tradition that became the centerpiece of many cherished gatherings.

Jim is survived by his wife, Ebba Sanders; his children, Renda Lou Bolen and Jim Ann Klepac (Bill); his grandchildren, Cole Bolen (Ashley), ReAnn Tate (Joe), Ty Klepac (Katie), and Tanner Klepac (McKayla); and five great-grandchildren. His legacy of kindness, hard work, and devotion to family will live on through them.

Jim will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
