Jimmy Lindley Corpus Christi, TX

Jimmy Calvin Lindley Sr. of Corpus Christi went to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on April 6, 2014 at the age of 81, with his family by his side.

Jim was born on December 25, 1932 in Houston, Texas to Joseph and Ruby Lindley. He graduated from San Jacinto High School before serving in the U.S. Army from 1950-1953 and was a Veteran of the Korean War. He married Kay Henson Lindley in 1967, and they lived in San Antonio and Jonesboro, Arkansas before eventually moving to Corpus Christi.

Jim was a stock broker, restaurant-owner, and salesman for various companies before finally opening his Creative Business Forms, in 1991. Through his hard work and honesty, he earned the respect of many people in our community and his business continues to be successful today.

Jim was known for his commitment to hard work and excellence in all areas of his life, whether it was running his business, working on car and house repairs, or volunteering in his church. He was always willing to be a mentor to those in need and to give of his time to help others succeed. He loved cars, professional boxing, camping, house projects, dancing with his wife, and was a devoted Cowboys fan. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and sharing with them the things that he enjoyed.

Jim was a long-time member and former deacon of City Church in Corpus Christi and was blessed by this community that loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Ruby, his brother Johnny T. Lindley, his sister Betty Lindley, and his grandson Danny O. Dinges, Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Kay Lindley and children Kerry Dinges; Jay Lindley and wife Michelle; Steve Lindley and wife Wendy, all of Houston; Michael Craven and wife Carol of Dallas; Mark Craven of Clearlake; along with Laurel Crawford and husband Jerry; and Lisa Hansen and husband Peter of Corpus Christi. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

The family would like to give special thanks to Jim's wonderful hospice nurse Mikaela Doty with Odyssey Hospice for her compassionate care over Jim and our entire family during his illness.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m, Saturday, April 12, 2014 at City Church 4425 S. Staples St.
