Jesse "Chuy" Serna a beloved son, a father and friend was called home on July 31, 2024 after a long health battle at the age of 69. Jesse was born August 1, 1954 in Elsa Tx to Gilberto Ayala and Maria Isabel Lira Serna.

Jesse is proceeded in death by his father Gilberto Ayala, sister Santa Tijerina, Wife Alma Ledesma Serna and longtime partner Maria Arriaga.

Left to cherish his continued memories are his mother Maria Lira Ayala, Brothers Gilbert (Jeanette) Ayala, Angel (Diana) Garcia, Sisters Blanca (Joe) Recio and Janie (Rick) Garcia; his children Jesse (Jennifer) Serna, Ernest (Michelle Sanchez) Serna, Jessica (Juan) Rios, Jennifer (Jose) Esquivel, Jimmy (Tracee) Serna and John (Ashley) Serna; 20 grandkids and 9 great grandkids.

Genuinely a self made-man Jesse worked his way into becoming a great mechanic. He enjoyed life interacting with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, watching his oldies shows and was an avid wrestling fan. Jesse always found a way to bring laughter out of you with a joke in hand. He will be remembered for his strength and ability to never give up. Jesse will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.
