Jesus P. Montez gained his wings on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at the age of 88. He is preceded in death by his parents Rosalio & Julia Montez, his son Jesse Albert Montez and his grandson Daniel Anthony Leal.

Jesus was born in Brownsville, Texas on October 30, 1932. He proudly served his country for 3 years in the United States Army from April 1951 to May 1954. While serving in the army he was awarded a Combat Infantryman Badge, 2 Bronze Service Stars, the United Nations Medal, a Natural Defense Service Medal, and the Korean Service Medal for actively fighting in the Korean War.

Left to remember and honor him are his beloved wife of 60 years Virginia and his children Joe (Alice) Montez, Alma Leal, Robert (Lupe) Montez, George Montez, and Aurora (Armando) Garcia. He also leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Jesus " Chuy " was a strong, brave, and giving man. We will miss him dearly, but we will celebrate and remember his long and happy life.

There will be a visitation held at Guardian Funeral Home on Monday April 12th at 9am-1130am. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 1130am with a chapel service to follow at 1215. The burial will be held at The Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at 2pm.
