Jesus "Jesse" Cruz, age 77 of Corpus Christi (Flour Bluff) was called Home on Sunday, November 20, 2016. He was born to the late Jose Castro Cruz and Enriqueta (Taienao) on December 15, 1938 in Agat, Guam. Jesse is survived by his wife, Linda; children, Melissa (Jon) Reyes, Jeslene Cruz, Jesse (Michelle) Cruz, and Audra Cruz; grandchildren, Melanie, Cristeana, Jaclyn, Jon, Kayla and Kaden; brother, Roque (Virginia); sister, Flora. He also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends. Preceded in death by brothers, Gregorio, Vicente, and Raleo. Jesse was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War in the US Navy, serving for 30 years retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer FOUR in Aviation Maintenance. He served in several duty stations overseas, various aircraft carriers, and several aircraft squadrons. He was also a dedicated servant of God and His Church.
Visitation is Monday, November 28, 2016, beginning at 5 p.m. with a Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. at Guardian Funeral Home. Funeral Mass is Tuesday, November 29, 2016, 11 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church (2233 Waldron Rd, Corpus Christi, TX 78418) Burial with Military Honors to follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery (9974 I-37 Access Rd, Corpus Christi, TX 78410)
