Our beloved father, Jesus (Jesse) M. Cantu, passed away on December 7, 2016, at the age of 89, surrounded by his loving family. Jesus was born on December 12, 1926 in Taft, Texas to Alejandro and Lucia Mendiola Cantu. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Jesus was a self-made carpenter, mechanic, plumber, electrician and welder. Jesus enjoyed listening to conjunto music and loved playing the accordion. He retired as a Security Guard from OxyChem in Ingleside, TX.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years of marriage, Maria Angelita Cantu, and his daughter Guadalupe Cantu Rivera.
He is survived by his daughter, Linda Cantu (Abel) Perez; his four sons, Juan Gilberto (Mary Jane) Cantu, Eddie (Dubie) Cantu, Jesse (Imelda) Cantu Jr., and Albert (Ronnette) Cantu; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 12, 2016 at 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Guardian Funeral Home with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at Nuestra Senora De San Juan De Los Lagos, Corpus Christi, TX. Burial will follow at the Rose Hill Memorial Park.
