Obituary

Jesse Cano earned his wings, took the Lord's hand and followed him to His kingdom on January 18, 2021. God blessed us with our "heart of gold" gentle giant whose soul was full of compassion and generous of time for anyone who needed him. From the time of his birth on September 30, 1971 till his passing, he brought a world of happiness to everyone whose path he crossed. He was always eager to help anyone at any time with his ever present smile and sense of humor that would light up any room. Anyone fortunate enough to have known Jesse, would come away richer for his presence in their life.

He is survived by his anchor, the 21 year love of his life, his adoring wife, Catherine. Jesse was a loving husband who always made sure his family was his priority. He had Catherine smiling from the moment they met and he made her a better person BECAUSE of his love for her.

Jesse was a unique father who loved his children unconditionally. Janessa and Johnathan brought him so much love and joy that, with great pride, he made it a point to attend every performance, ceremony, function, or athletic event they were involved in.

He is also survived by his parents Daniel and Maria Cano and Jose and Aida Lopez. mother in law Gloria Esquivel, sisters in law Candice Reed and Shania Esquivel, his uncle and aunt, Thomas and Pat Chodosh. Survivors include his 11 siblings: Alice (Manuel) Castillo, Daniel (Katy) Cano, Rose Cano, Mary (Ernest) Lopez, Quase (Norma) Lopez, Arnold (Patsy) Rodriguez, Gabriel (Christina) Cano, Pipo (Felicia) Lopez, Anthony (Bertha) Lopez, Joann (Jay) Canales, Lino (Mayra) Lopez and numerous nieces and nephews that he was extremely proud of.

Jesse has left us with our cherished memories of this most unforgettable man and remembering him will sustain us through our journey to healing from his passing. He will cross our minds often, when we least expect it, but our melancholy moments will be followed by a smile as we remember the witty joy he brought us. Rest in God's peace, dear Jess.

His visitation will be at 1pm followed by rosary at 2:30pm and Mass at 3pm
on Saturday February 6,2021 at Corpus Christi Cathedral 505 N. Upper Broadway, Corpus Christi, Texas 78401.

In lieu of plants and florals, details on a Johnathan Patrick Cano Fund will follow.
