Jerry Lynn Beets, 72, passed away on February 13, 2016. He was born on October 21, 1943 and was a life long resident of Corpus Christi. He had a great love for his country and proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 30 years, joining at the age of 16, and retiring at the rank of Chief. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvie Lee and Golden P. Beets; his loving wife of 44 years, Paulette Beets; infant daughter, Jerry Ann Beets; brothers, John (Buck) Beets, Jack Bill Beets, Alvie Lee Beets, Jr. and Preston Allen Beets; sisters, Naomi Bernice McIntyre, Golden Dorothy Garrett, Rose Marie Ward, Glenda Ann Mann and Patricia Ann Beets. He is survived by daughters, Dawn Arevalo (Armando), Sandra Kaye Carr, and Diana Lynn Beets; brother, Kenneth Beets; sisters, Nelda Kaye Beets, and Linda Carol Kennedy; grandchildren, Michael Quiroz, Eric Quiroz, Christi Pimental, Rachel Carr, and Hal (Michael) Carr; great-grandchildren Arianna and Natalie; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Guardian funeral home chapel "A" with Services to be held at 6:00 p.m. followed by Military Honors.
