IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jeffery T.
Irizarry
January 4, 1959 – April 14, 2025
Jeffery Thomas Irizarry, a cherished father, son, brother, and friend, passed away on April 14, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on January 4, 1959, in San Antonio, Texas, to Willie and Linda Irizarry, Jeffery's life was one marked by devotion to his family, a passion for the outdoors, and a vibrant career in medical sales. He departed this life in Corpus Christi, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and a life lived with zest.
Jeffery's professional journey as a Medical Sales Representative began with Zimmer, Inc., in 1987. He later dedicated two decades of service to Medical Interest Inc. His commitment to excellence and his engaging personality earned him the respect and friendship of colleagues and clients alike. Beyond the workplace, Jeffery cultivated a life rich in interests and hobbies. His culinary skills were legendary, especially his BBQ baby back ribs and chicken, which he lovingly prepared for family and friends. An avid golfer, Jeffery found joy and relaxation on the greens, continuing a love for sports that began in his teens. Jeffery was president of the Corpus Christi Golf Association for six years and a member of the Pan-American Golf Association for five years. He won the Pan-American Gold Association club championship in 2018. He was also a part of a golf club called the" Pluckers".
In his early life, while his father was in the Air Force, Jeffery's family first relocated to San Angelo, Texas. From San Angelo they moved to Misawa, Japan then Brindisi, Italy. In Brindisi, Italy he played on an all-star baseball team. His athletic prowess and competitive spirit shone as he garnered numerous awards and the enthusiastic support of his family. Although an injury shifted his focus from baseball, Jeffery's athletic journey didn't end there; he embraced golf and swimming on the neighborhood swim team, excelling and finding lifelong enjoyment in both.
Jeffery's green thumb was evident in the beautiful plants he nurtured. From bougainvillea to his prized rose gardens he plated at various homes he lived in. He cultivated beauty that extended beyond his own backyard. His mother's tradition of sharing plant cuttings inspired Jeffery to do the same, spreading joy and greenery throughout his neighborhood. His love for animals was profound, particularly for his beloved dog, Reyna. After Reyna's passing, Jeffery channeled his affection into the tranquil beauty of a freshwater fish aquarium.
He was a man of routine and discipline, starting each day at 4:00 am to make the most of every moment. Jeffery's evenings were often spent enjoying his favorite sci-fi movies, with "Dune" being his favorite. He was also a dedicated fan of the History Channel, indulging his fascination with the past. His sons, Joshua and Justin, remember him fondly for his involvement in their lives, from coaching baseball to assembling intricate 2000-piece puzzles together.
Jeffery's kindness extended beyond his immediate circle. He relished in celebrating others, such as organizing a Mother's Day gathering for the moms in his apartment complex. His generous spirit was also evident in his love for the outdoors, where he enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting. The fruits of his hunting trips were shared with others, reflecting his giving nature.
Left behind with cherished memories are Jeffery's proud sons, Joshua and Justin Irizarry; parents, Willie and Linda Irizarry; sister, Cynthia (Charles) Benjamin; and nephews, Tyler and Charles Benjamin III.
Jeffery is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Rey and Cecilia Irizarry; and maternal grandparents, Joseph and Effie Ainsworth. Jeffery's family will hold dear the memories of his kind, generous, and interesting spirit.
As Jeffery looked forward to a well-deserved retirement in July 2025, he continued to live each day with purpose and joy. His life, much like the lyrics of his favorite song, "My Way" by Frank Sinatra, was a testament to living authentically and fully. Jeffery Thomas Irizarry will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, but his vibrant spirit will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
