Jean Walter Good, (J. W.), was called home to be with our Lord on March 29, 2015 after a long illness. He was born August 13, 1936 in Henrietta, Oklahoma. He graduated from Gaston High School in Henderson, Texas in 1956. He was enlisted in the United States Army from 1956 to 1959. He was a member of the Fourth Army Band, FSHTex in which he played the tuba. He also enjoyed playing music with his family and was able to play several instruments. He attended the United States Naval School of Music in Washington, D.C. He was also a bass player for the Louis Rims Band and the Lamar Mackie Orchestra. He met Maria Albesa Garcia while stationed in San Antonio, Texas on her birthday. They married on February 14, 1960 in Alice, Texas. He was an agent and assistant manager for American National Insurance Company and received a promotion to District Manager in Sinton, Texas in 1968 where he received many awards and attended several conventions. He m t forever as he awaits the rest of us!oved to Corpus Christi, Texas in 1972. He opened his own office with Farmers Insurance in Alice, Texas in 1985. He retired from the insurance business after 35 years. He was an avid fisherman, handyman, mechanic, and general jack-of-all trades and gave Fred Astaire a run for his money! He was a loving husband, father, and grant-father. His parents, Ursula Florence (Bramble) and William Franklin Good, preceded him in death as well as his siblings, Billie Marie Bogue and Jackie Lee Good. He is survived by his wife, Maria Albesa (Garcia) Good, to whom he was married for fifty-five years. Three daughters, Victoria (Perfecto) Puente of Corpus Christi, Debra Good of Austin, Texas, and Linda Good of Corpus Christi, Texas. Three grand-children, Ramon (Antoinette) Garcia of Austin, Texas, Elizabeth Ashley McBroom of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Nicole (James Dalager) Puente of Corpus Christi, Texas. Four great-grand- children, Arianna and Alexander Garcia, and Kiersten and Payton McBroom. He is also survived by his siblings, Opal Francis Hornbuckle of Henderson, Texas, John Good of Crosby, Texas, Phyllis (Paul) Pachowitz of South Dakota, and Thomas Pugh of Henderson, Texas. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Guardian funeral home chapel "A" with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Most Precious Blood Catholic church 3502 Saratoga Blvd.(Those attending the Mass meet at the Church). A Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2015 at the Coastal Bend State Veterans cemetery, 9974 IH 37 access rd.
