IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jean Marie
Callejo Guerra
January 28, 1973 – August 7, 2021
Corpus Christi – Jean Marie Callejo-Guerra, 48, passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021 surrounded by her family.
Jean was born January 28, 1973 to Juan "JC" M. Callejo & Grace Ruelas-Callejo in Corpus Christi, Texas. Her parents later moved to Houston where she attended elementary and junior high schools. She moved back to Corpus Christi, and graduated from Mary Carroll High School in 1991.
In 1992, she moved back to Houston, Texas area with her best friend of 38 years, Sandra Farias-Roberts. There they moved into their first apartment and their "THELMA & LOUISE" adventures started.
Shortly after, she met the Father of her Children, Edwin E. Guerra, in 1993. They would later marry and raise 4 beautiful children – Ashley, Ericka, Eric and Eddie. Family time and family trips were most memorable. However, she treasured her daughters' dance recitals, girl scouts events, volleyball and soccer games. As well as both of her sons' football and baseball games throughout the years.
Jean lived life to the fullest…her and her beautiful smile would light up any room. She loved listening and dancing to country music. GEORGE STRAIT was her all-time favorite. There wasn't a song she did not know! She attended many of his concerts and treasured every one like it was her first.
She was an avid football and baseball fan, always supporting her favorite teams the Houston Texans and the Houston Astros.
She served on the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (HLSR) Directions and Assistance Committee from 2014-2020. She worked closely with those attending the events and helped countless patrons throughout the arena. She helped prepare and deliver the Grand Entry horses into the stadium and the teams cookout. Her service aided in providing scholarships to thousands of students.
She moved back to Corpus Christi in April 2019 to be closer to her family. She loved spending time with family and family dinners were her favorite! Special Thank You to Aunt Linda Callejo, Erik Martinez, Mike & Jessica Perales and Josiah for welcoming her into your home and the unconditional love shown these last couple of years.
