IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Javier Refugio
Garcia
January 18, 1969 – September 29, 2020
Our Heavenly Father called Javier Refugio Garcia, 51 home on September 29, 2020. He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on January 18, 1969 to Eliseo and Minerva Garcia.
Javier graduated from Richard King High School in 1987 and continued his education at SMU and Texas A&M-Kingsville to pursue his passion for computers and technology.
He saw the potential for a digital world as it was developing and was excited to be part of it. Over the years, he was able to work as part of IT in various industries. In 1992, six years before Google was created, Javier established his own internet service provider, PlaNet Internet Services, based in Bishop, Texas. He also worked for several years as a radiology imaging administrator in Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri.
Although he enjoyed and excelled at his job, he missed his family and made the choice to return to Corpus Christi. He never regretted that choice.
Intelligent and curious, Javier always had something interesting to say and loved sharing new ideas with family and friends. His easygoing manner helped him make friends wherever he went.
Javier loved adventure and enjoyed traveling to new places as well as to old favorites like Garner State Park. He was always ready for a road trip! He enjoyed life, music and mom's home-cooked meals. For Javier, family was always top priority. He loved and admired his parents for providing a loving and stable family home. As an adult, he could look back and recognize how growing up in such an environment was an amazing blessing.
Javier is survived by his loving parents, three sisters, Theresa Garcia Ruiz (Jose), Celina Garcia, Gracie Garcia and brother Andres Garcia. He also has three nieces, Sabrina Garcia, Lauren Olivia Rodriguez and Sophia Garcia Talbott, two great nieces, one great nephew and many loving Aunts, Uncles, and cousins who miss him deeply.
The family will be accepting friends and relatives at Guardian Funeral Home and Cremation Services at 5922 Crosstown SH 286, Corpus Christi, Texas from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM with a Rosary at 10:00 AM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 PM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 5830 Williams Drive. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
