Janie L. Salazar, 70, of Corpus Christi, TX, died peacefully in her sleep at home, after a short illness on December 20, 2016. Born January 8, 1946 in Brownsville, TX, she is preceded in death by her mother, Petra L. Herrera; brothers, Librado Garza Jr., Guadalupe Lopez, and Edward Almeida. Janie is survived by her one and only daughter, Cindy (Roy C.) Ferdin, of Corpus Christi, TX; grandchildren, Roy and Valerie Ferdin of Corpus Christi; brothers, Jesse Lopez, Joe Almeida-Harrison; and sisters, Mary Pierce, Rose Simmons, and Yolanda Pena.

Janie worked at AMF Bowling Lanes for 25 years. She enjoyed being with her family and dog Sandy.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 23, 2016 at Rose Hill Memorial Park, 2731 Comanche, Corpus Christi, TX.
