James Robert (Jimmy) Davis, 65 went to be with the Lord on February 9, 2014 following a long illness.

Jimmy was born November 2, 1948 in Plainview, Texas to Robert M. (Bob) and Lucille (McSherry) Davis. Jimmy grew up in Corpus Christi attending Carroll High School. After High School Jimmy served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam conflict,returning to Corpus Christi to live and work for several years. He decided to try his luck in Alaska living in Anchorage and on the Kenai Peninsula where he worked around the Alaska pipeline, various refineries and on the docks in the shipping industry.

Jimmy returned to Corpus Christi when his father fell ill in 2002 and remained here until his death.

Jimmy was preceded in death by one sister Charlotte and his father Robert Davis. He is survived by his mother, Lucille and one sister Patricia and husband Kenneth and one uncle Wilbur McSherry and one aunt Blache Erie, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. with Services at 11:30 a.m. February 13 ,2014 at Guardian Funeral Home 5922 Crosstown Expressway with interment to follow at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.9974 IH 37 rand morgan access rd. #9.
