Obituary

James Alexander Fulton, known lovingly to family and friends as Jim or Alec, passed away peacefully at his home on June 18, 2026, after a courageous three-year battle with leukemia. He was 79 years old.

James was born on March 25, 1947, in Corpus Christi, Texas, and lived a life distinguished by integrity, compassion, and unwavering dedication to his family, friends, and community. He was admired for his strong character, generosity, and willingness to help others whenever needed.

A proud patriot, James answered his country's call to service and proudly served in the United States Army for three years, including service during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he dedicated 25 years of his career to the Corpus Christi Army Depot, where he earned the respect and friendship of many colleagues.

James will be remembered for his love of travel, his enjoyment of gambling, and the laughter he shared through his many jokes. A man of routine, he found joy in starting each day at his favorite breakfast spots, where he enjoyed good food and familiar faces. He treasured time spent with family and friends.

James is survived by his beloved wife, Adela V. Fulton; his siblings, Paula Flores, George Fulton (Dale), Alice Garza (Joe), Amy Fulton (Carole), and Oscar Fulton (Christy); his children, James Benjamin Fulton, Daryl Alexander Fulton, Jodi Lynn Guerra (Jerry), Jahna Denise Fulton, and Julia Alexis Fulton; and his stepchildren, Patrick O'Rourke (Tara), Joseph O'Rourke (Trish), and Teresa O'Rourke.

He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Jenna and Jerry Guerra, Ryan, Brycen, and Hudson Morales, and Ariel Fulton; his step-grandchildren, Tyler, Garret, Courtney, Emily, Seth, Joseph, Kaitlynn, Christopher and Javier O'Rourke, and Brittany Eggleston; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, extended family members, and dear friends.

James was preceded in death by his father, James Benjamin Fulton; his mother, Alice Meza Fulton; his sisters, Cynthia Reifschneider, Patty Cantu, Mary Jane Fulton; and his brothers, Charlie Fulton, and Henry Fulton.

The legacy of James Fulton will endure through the countless lives he touched and the lasting impact of his kindness, generosity, and service. His memory will remain a source of inspiration, comfort, and love to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
