James Arthur Cowan, age 81, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away peacefully on April 10, 2022. James was born in Muskogee, OK in 1940 to parents Barlow and Elizabeth Cowan. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife Amy Cowan and his six children: Elizabeth Wiggins and husband Gary, Kim Pineau and husband Curt, Cheryl Wages, Suzanne Sparks and husband Ted, James Cowan Jr., and Becky Bravo-Escos and husband Miguel. James also leaves behind 16 grandchildren and enough great grandchildren to fill a chapel. He is proceeded in death by his parents and two sisters Francis and Dolly.

James was a very hard worker and enjoyed many things in life such as building and working with his hands, CB Radios, playing cards and dominoes and especially the time he got to spend dressing as Santa for his friends and their children as well as his community during the holidays. He loved his church, and he loved the Lord. He was also very active as a volunteer at his local Senior Center helping organize events and activities. However, the thing he enjoyed most in his life was spending time with his very large family. His favorite times were when his children and grandchildren were gathered around for a holiday visit or a family meal. He loved his family more than anything and cherished every moment he had with them.

We love you "A bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck" and are rejoicing with you knowing that you are dancing in heaven pain free.

A celebration of life will be held on April 20, 2022, from 10:00am -11:00am at Brighton Park Baptist Church located at 3418 Airline Road in Corpus Christi, TX.

The family is asking that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Dementia Society of America.
