James A. Clark, Corpus Christi, TX
With his loving wife at his side, James A. Clark, 64 left us to be with his creator on June 30, 2015 after a brief illness. Jim was born in Portland, OR on December 11, 1950 and was raised by his parents Marian and Harold Clark in Tillamook, OR. At the age of 18 Jim answered his country's call to service and joined the U.S. Navy. While stationed at NAS Kingsville, Jim was introduced to and soon married Mary Veselka of Corpus Christi, TX. Together they experienced many adventures while raising their two children. After earning an honorable discharge, Jim and his family returned to South Texas where he continued his career in Aviation Maintenance at CCAD. He retired in 2012 after 39 years of service.
Jim was known for his eagerness to help anyone in need. He was a proud supporter of the FBHS Band and NJROTC.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Marian Clark; brother, Keith Phelps; sister, Carolyn Phelps; father-in-law, Walter Veselka, Jr.; mother-in-law, Vera T. Veselka, and brother-in-law, David Grabbs, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary Clark, daughter, Denise Clark of Austin
, son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Jodi Clark and grandson, Benjamin of Anchorage, Alaska, mother-in-law, Ila Rae Veselka, brothers-in-law, Walter (Karen) Veselka, Harvey (Buffie) Veselka, Michael (Victoria) Veselka, James (Margie) Grabbs, sisters-in-law, Kimberly (Todd) House, Lynda Grabbs, and numerous nieces and nephews.
We extend our sincere appreciation to Dr. Aftab Mahmood, Dr. Gerard Voorhees and staff of the Cancer Specialists of South Texas, and to Dr. Gabor Szalai and Dr. Scott McKinstry of Cardiology Associates of Corpus Christi.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, July 3, at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, Flour Bluff Drive and Compton Road.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made in his name to The American Cancer Society, The American Heart Association, or a charity of your choice
