IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James C.
Bowman
April 1, 1947 – February 7, 2023
James C. Bowman age 75, was called away suddenly on February 7, 2023 at 6:09 p.m.
He leaves behind 2 children: (Carlos) Shawna Bowman-Tamez, 53, of Corpus Christi and James A. Bowman II, 50, of Corpus Christi, and 2 grandchildren: Kathryn R. Tamez, 26 and Charles K. Tame, 16, both of Corpus Christi. Also his Brothers: Terri, Mark, Russell, and Jaime, and his Sister Jennifer.
He is preceded in death by both his parents and his other sisters Amy and Polly.
James was born April 1, 1947 to James A. Bowman and Evelynn Seevers Bowman in Barberton, Ohio, and raised on a farm in Akron, Ohio until his early teens when he moved to Prairie Du Sauk, Wisconsin, where he graduated High School in 1964. He promptly enlisted in the United States Army and volunteered to go to Vietnam. When he came back to the states, he left the Army and went to live in Seattle, Washington.
A couple months after his first child was born, he re-enlisted as a Non-Commissioned Officer in the US Air Force where he made a 24 year career in the Medical Field. Serving first in Podiatry and decided OtoLaryngology was his calling.
He was stationed in many places, but never overseas; Columbus, OH, Biloxi, MS, Anchorage, AK, Phoenix, AZ, and finally SanAntonio, TX where he retired as MSGT from Wilford Hall on Lackland AFB in 1989; only to be called back into service, but as reservist for Operation Desert Storm until 1991.
Shortly thereafter he moved to Corpus Christi, TX and took a job as a Sextant for All Saints Episcopal Church where he became an integral part of the inner workings of the Church Parrish until 1996, where he moved to Dallas for a few years only to come back to Corpus to be closer to his children and grandchildren until recently.
He was well loved and liked by many. He always made an impression with his kindness or his bright blue eyes. He is sorely missed and will always be in our hearts.
Interment with Full Military Honors will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, 9974 IH 37-Access Rd.
